Michael Clemens - ABN AMRO Michael Clemens works as a Senior Equity Analyst at ABN AMRO. Based in Copenhagen, Michael Clemens has 18 years of capital market experience, of which the majority has been spent as an Equity Analyst. Michael has also spent time on the buy-side as portfolio manager of both equities and alternative investments (especially hedge funds). Besides his work at ABN AMRO, Michael also works part-time at the Copenhagen Business School as an external supervisor of students writing term papers or Master's thesis' at the Copenhagen Business School." |
Kostas Iordanidis - Olympia Capital Management Kostas is co-chief investment officer at Olympia Capital Management in Paris, where he is responsible for the management of the firm’s fund of hedge funds portfolio. Previously, Dr. Iordanidis was head of asset allocation at Julius Baer Asset Management in Zurich. Additionally, he co-founded Z.I. Investments LLC, a global macro hedge fund, and served as fixed-income portfolio manager at Lincoln Capital Management. Dr. Iordanidis holds an MS in quantitative finance and a PhD in physics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. |
Owen Lamont - DKR Fusion Management Owen joined DKR Fusion Management LP as portfolio manager of the DKR Neutrino Fund in July 2006. Prior to that from 2005 to 2006 he worked as a consultant for DKR Fusion developing equity quantitative models. Dr. Lamont is currently on leave from Yale School of Management where he has been Professor of Finance since 2004. Dr. Lamont received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1994. |
Jan Longeval - Bank Degroof Jan Longeval is head of instituional portfolio management at Bank Degroof in Brussels and Chairman of the Board with Degroof Fund Management. He has been a Visiting Lecturer in Financial Analysis and Valuation at EHSAL, Brussels and VLEKHK, Brussels. As well as having considerable fund management and research experience in the field on equity management and behavioural finance, Jan also spent time as head of equity trading with NIB Capital in the Netherlands. |
Colin McLean - SVM Asset Management Colin McLean is Founder and Managing Director of SVM Asset Management, and has been an investor for over 25 years. He is Chairman of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP). Colin holds an MA (Hons) in Political Economy & Economic Statistics and an MBA (Distinction). He is a Fellow of UKSIP, the Faculty of Actuaries and of SII, and is a Visiting Professor at Caledonian Business School. Prior to establishing SVM he was CIO at two UK life assurers, and was CEO of Templeton International’s European operations. Colin’s investment methods have been featured in two books; “Investing with the Grand Masters” by James Morton and “Money Makers” by Jonathan Davis. He is also a frequent contributor to the national press and regularly appears on Bloomberg TV, CNBC and BBC’s Working Lunch. |
Mark Schindler - Clariden Leu Mark Schindler is the author of "Rumors in Financial Markets: Insights into Behavioral Finance", published by John Wiley & Sons in March 2007. The book is based on his PhD research which he conducted at the Institute for Empirical Research in Economics, University of Zurich under the supervision of professors Ernst Fehr and Thorsten Hens. Before writing his PhD, Mark worked for several years at Arthur Andersen in the area of Financial and Commodities Risk Consulting. He is currently a Funds of Hedge Funds Manager for Clariden Leu Ltd in Zurich. |
Professor Richard Taffler - University of Edinburgh Martin Currie Chair of Finance and Investment and Director of Finance and Investment, has held previous professorial appointments at the Cranfield School of Management and Cass Business School. Richard is particularly well known for his expertise in behavioural finance, the application of psychology to understanding the workings of the financial markets and the behaviour of market participants. As well as an active research and teaching agenda, he consults with major investment houses, international banks and other financial services organisations. |
Peter Wöhrmann - Stanford University Peter Wöhrmann, born on Sep 11th 1969, graduated from the university of Kiel. He holds a Ph.D. from the university of Bielefeld and has also studied at UCLA. From 1999 to 2004 he worked for Deutsche Bank Global Finance and was later one of the founders of Quantrade AG, a Frankfurt based Hedge Fund. Since spring 2004 he is setting affiliated with our group at the university of Zurich. Peter is an expert in financial econometrics supporting our theoretical results empirically. Peter is recently publishing in the Journal of Economic Modelling and the Journal of Economics Dynamics and Control. |
